To strengthen our presence in the Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced, technically skilled and commercially minded Freelance Project Manager.
The role
As Project Manager, you take ownership of complex multidisciplinary EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) and EPCM (Engineering, Procurement & Construction Management) lab and cleanroom projects, ensuring successful delivery within agreed scope, budget, schedule and quality requirements from concept to completion.
Project management & execution
- Lead EPC/EPCM projects from concept through engineering, construction and handover.
- Manage schedules, budgets, financial performance, risks and multidisciplinary teams.
Ensure high standards of quality, safety and project execution.
Contractor & supplier management
- Build and maintain a strong network of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in the Netherlands.
Select, negotiate with and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers throughout project execution.
Commercial involvement & business development
- Build strong client relationships and identify new commercial opportunities.
- Take an active role in the commercial phase by contributing to EPC/EPCM proposals, tenders, cost estimates and contract negotiations. Define effective project execution strategies and support the sales team in developing compelling, competitive and deliverable proposals that meet client expectations.
Actively support VILS' growth in the Dutch Life Sciences market.
Your profile
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven EPC/EPCM project management experience, preferably in the Life Sciences industry.
• Strong technical understanding of cleanrooms, HVAC, process equipment and/or utilities.
• An established network of contractors and suppliers in the Netherlands.
• Commercial mindset, strong leadership and negotiation skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Willing to travel to client and project sites.
• Operating as an independent freelance professional/ZZP’er.
